Social Media Monitoring Case Studies
SafetyNet Program

Monitoring Social Media allows you to find out what your customers are really thinking about your business or brand in a way companies have not been able to in the past. Getting this type of information can improve your business in ways you can't even imagine.

From the start of our Social Media Monitoring program, SafetyNet, which Ann Michaels & Associated launched in September, 2008, things have already changed. For example, one retailer, who was lucky to get 15 search results a day, is now getting 75 results per day. As the growth of Social Media explodes, so does the need for companies in all industries to sit up and take notice!

In this very short time we have uncovered interesting and useful information for our clients. Here are some brief case studies to date:

1. National retailer uses SafetyNet to monitor online buzz about their products and to learn more about what their consumers are thinking about their products. Trends in the data show that many of their customers love their accessory line and have been looking at their website more often. Twitter posts are actually advertising products of the stores and encouraging others to try them out. The client finds out easily where in the country the online chatter seems to be and can determine if there is a direct correlation to sales in that region.

2. Upscale dining chain has learned that their customers think their portion sizes are huge. Additionally, they have learned that customers view this restaurant as a place to go to celebrate a special occasion. Trends in the data show the client which menu items are a hit and which ones customer’s favor less and why. Data reveals how “viral marketing” campaigns are working and who is talking about promotions.

3. Furniture Retailer learned that websites were using their brand without permission to up search engine results. They were quick to learn about a competitor closing locations near their stores. Additionally, they were able to determine if consumers were talking more about their company or their competitors by initiating a competitive monitoring program in conjunction with their own program.

These are just a few of examples of the benefits of SafetyNet. In addition to the weekly reports that contain this information, analytical reports are available to give you even more detailed information. Please view the presentation below to learn more about SafetyNet and its benefits.
